The Frame
consists of 3 parts:
Structural Bars
Corner Connectors
Bolts (Note: LHSCS stand for Low Head, Socket-head Cap Screws)
I have linked to Fastenal for the bolts, since they list cross
reference info to multiple international standards for hardware.
The initial machine (your first Cube) is constructed without the corner
connectors, using angle brackets instead, to keep costs down.
It is
seen, however, as a one-off, temporary solution since once the first
cube is built, the first thing it is used to make is a set of corner
connectors....
At present, this approach is only applied to the 600 series cube,
because it is seen as a starting point for the entire system.
The four "Series" are derived from the four likeliest methods of
construction
"610" is a 600mm cube made with 1 inch T-Slot extrusion
"615" is a 600mm cube made with 1.5 inch T-Slot extrusion
"625" is a 600mm cube made with 25mm T-Slot extrusion
"640" is a 600mm cube made with 40mm T-Slot extrusion
The aim is to place minimal limitations on what material can be used,
while still ensuring inter-operability between designs.
